According to a study published in the journal of Comprehensive Psychology, a hug is effective in combating stress, fatigue, heart disease and boosting the immune system overall. The study cited that a hug of ten seconds or more releases positive hormones like oxytocin while dropping your cortisol. I just wonder if hugging would work on a tree. I have a tree in my backyard that might not make it. While I ponder hugging trees I will just hug my kids more often and for a little while longer.
