It’s very easy for me to grab a diet soda or coffee instead of water. There are also many recent studies suggesting that bottled water marketers may have hoodwinked us on how great water is. The thing I try to remember is that if I am not drinking water throughout the day then what am I drinking? If I end of drinking too much coffee throughout the day, my eyes tend to be wide open as lay there on my bed at night. If I drink too much diet pop, I have noticed that it restricts my weight loss, and there are many studies out there suggesting that diet soda hurts one’s ability to lose weight.
Please keep in mind water has many benefits and these are the three reasons as to why anyone should drink more water:
- Caloric In-take: Water is certainly not a magic solution in helping anyone lose weight, but it will help you control the amount of calories you take in throughout the day. It is especially true if you drink water instead of soda, energy drinks or juices.
- Helps keep your skin looking younger and healthier. When you pass by the makeup counter at a department store be sure to carry a bottle of water and let the makeup girl know that you are busy hydrating the cells in your body and won’t be needing any anti-aging creams from her today. All kidding aside, water keeps your cells hydrated which in-turn helps you look fresh.
- It helps you poop. Staying hydrated keeps things moving in your gastrointestinal tract. Drinking water also helps prevent constipation that would occur due to the colon pulling water from stools to keep you hydrated. It also helps your body to eliminate toxins naturally.
