Why your Gut Biome is so important for your Health

It’s a jungle down there. When I do say down there I am talking about your gut. According to research there over a 1 trillion microbes living in your gut this very moment. This complex ecosystem in the human gut is indeed very much like the Amazon jungle, but far more complex. According to scientists at Oxford University, healthy competition between microbes helps to maintain stability which in turn keeps us healthy. The research has been published in the journal Science.
It has been well documented now that a healthy microbiome in our gut is key to our health and also are the keys to helping us with breaking down food and keeping our immune system healthy. Research is also showing how using things like antibiotics can mess up our microbiome permanently by killing good bacteria as well as bad. In some cases, these good bacteria never come back. Processed foods and stress are also factors for messing up your gut.
